bali zoo park

Nature's Education Centre!
…the first and the only zoo in Bali.
Bali Zoo is the perfect wildlife conservatory for the finest collection of Indonesian and other countries exotic animals. The Zoo takes visitors on a virtual jungle tour, where you can see the animals close up, and admire the tropical flora and beautiful setting. Entering the exotic world of fauna, visitors are welcome by our friendly staff, warm repeated song of Siamangs, a lazy gigantic crocodile, and the biggest lizard of the world, the Komodo Dragon!

The songs of various kinds of birds, such as the Bali starlings, peacocks, cassowaries, cockatoos and many other Asian birds greet visitors as they walk along the paths with lush tropical plantations and soft sound of fountains drops from the surrounding ponds. Explore our finest collection of deer, kangaroos, reptiles, primates, tigers and many other species… It's a really fun day out for all the family, and an educational experience.

Lion is an animal that spends most of its time to sleep, they only hunting for prey when they feel hungry. Weighed almost 200 kg, lion is the only big cat that can’t climb and doesn’t like water.

Pride of Lions will be occupied by Miko and his family, the lion who came to Bali Zoo eight years ago and has now successfully breed.

Pride of Lions is new exhibit in Bali Zoo, set on a land area of 14 acres, Pride of Lions will be Bali Zoo’s new welcomer that will greet the visitors when entering the zoo. The visitors will be able to get the freedom to see the African Lion from close range and from different directions (3D exhibit).

6 years ago Miko and Miki our African lion or panthera leo joined our family, they came from animal sanctuary in Jembrana. We waited until they fully grown for our breeding program, Miko and Miki has close blood relation and one of them must be sent to other zoo in order to get other female or male, and we decided to sent Miki. Ponirah is our new female and she doesn't have any problem to get close to Miko.

Few months later we got very good news, our vet and keepers reported that Ponirah is pregnant. and after waiting for while ponirah gave birth to three adorable cubs, six month later she again giving birth to three cubs....

Now in total we have 10 lions and two of them ( Ram and Morgan) will be send to other zoo in Lamongan (Maharani Zoo). Their current exhibit are no longer enough for all of them, so in last few months we have to separated them in three different groups, but soon they will be reunited, now we working hard to build bigger exhibit for them.

We are very happy, as family, we have solid team who willing to work hard to build and make a better zoo. We got lot of support from our friends (Pak Rasit, Tony Greenwood and Sofie Semmler) who help us by giving and sharing ideas.

Mammals are the highest class of vertebrates and the female has mammary glands which secrete milk for the nourishment of young after birth. Mammals are warm-blooded and the majority of their body is covered with hair. Mammals give birth to live young (except the platypus and echidna, who lay eggs). They also have three middle ear bones.

Most mammals live solely on land, but there are several groups that have specifically evolved to exist solely in aquatic environments (dolphins and whales) one of which is the largest of all animals. Only one group has mastered the art of true flight (bats) although several have developed the ability to glide through tree tops.
Our Amazing Mammals : White Tiger, Sumatran Tiger, Lion, Binturong, Black Phanter, Camel, Deers, Sun Bear, Gibbons, Orangutan and much more..
